Participated in the Black Book Expo promoting my book, The Pearl inside the Orchid, at the National Black Theatre Building (www.nationalblacktheatre.org).
The National Black Theatre Building stood tall that morning, its yellow banner catching the light. I remember feeling both calm and charged, knowing I was about to share my words in a place filled with history and creative fire.
At my table inside the Expo, surrounded by books, conversation, and the art & writing community. I met so many curious minds that day, each pause and smile reminding me why I write in the first place.
A moment of joy caught on camera. Here, I’m holding my book close, grinning without even trying. It felt good to see my work out in the world, no longer an idea but something real and alive in my hands.
