Fly and Soar

Poem by Gaudys Laxury

Sad news, bad news, harsh news — brush away;
transform into an eagle, let the sickness stay at bay.
Fly like an eagle, drift swiftly in the air – fly, fly;
Spread the wings, soar as high as the sky.
Fly past the sea, past the trees, past the roads and flatlands;
Pass the heartaches and pains, woes, and bad hands.
Fly into the mountains, rest, meditate – let the sickness pass you by;
Let the wings shed, claws fall – this is not the moment to die.
A change is near, a transformation into the unknown;
Welcome new beginnings, a rebirth – the eagle has flown.
