Earlier today I heard a friendly debate on what amount of money a guy should spend on an engagement ring. After a few minutes of observing the spout, those friends came to the conclusion that $3,000 – $5,000 is too little to spend and $10,000 is the industry norm. Really? I think that is ridiculous. I thought the conversation was a waste of time. I just lost a few minutes of my precious time and space observing the debate. The way I see it– the size of a ring does not define who the person is or what the couple represents. The price of the ring does not define the person who bought it for their significant other. However, a little bit of splurging does not make the person vain either. Ultimately, it’s an investment by the couple and a special bond between the buyer and wearer. Also, the price of the ring is none of our business or if the couple ever decides to have a ring at all. Love– that is what counts in the end.
