Name:            Gaudys Laxury
Hometown:  New York, New York
Inspiration (Partial):   Jackson Pollock, Edgar Degas, Wassily Kandinsky, Salvador Dali, Pablo Picasso, Fernando Botero, Willem de Kooning, Joan Mitchell, Yves Tanguy

Gaudys Laxury is an author, artist, editor, and researcher. Gaudys combines her scholarly activities with the creative and literary arts. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Communications, Masters degree in Political Science with concentration in Public Policy, a Juris Doctor with concentration in Litigation, and a post-doctorate LL.M. degree in Intellectual Property law. Gaudys is the author of the art/poetry book, The Pearl inside the Orchid and wrote the short-fiction story, Los Chorritos de Valeria, which was included in the book anthology, Peinate.

Gaudys has interviewed individuals who have made an impact within the media, arts, literary, and financial industries; and has written on international issues affecting the community. In the span of over 20 years, Gaudys has written and published articles with accuracy and expertise in the fields of politics, legal, and media arts. As an award winning journalist, seasoned writer, and artist, she has the ability to research, produce, edit, and write material gained through professional experience.

She worked in research and marketing with a high-net worth multinational media conglomerate, an American Spanish-language terrestrial television network, and provider of Spanish content worldwide. Throughout that time she was an analyst, researcher, and manager working in the media industry. The media industry exercised her ability to recognize up and coming trends and ideas. Liaising with artists and clients, as well as a discerning eye for art and seeking knowledge through research is what makes Gaudys truly unique.

Gaudys also worked as a business intelligence and research specialist at a top fifty AmLaw international law firm in New York city. She imparted international and domestic information on competitive, market and business intelligence topics in the legal industry. As a result of the research experience, she brings a unique perspective to intelligence work and the dynamics of market and industry issues stemming from corporate research across a variety of sectors including entertainment, technology, financial institutions, energy, and the public sector.

After a deep exploration in various health and healing modalities, Gaudys discovered a passion for wellness and healthy living. Gaudys is an abstract thinker, an explorer, and a researcher— a healer through her words and art.

I am a private person at heart, who most powerfully expresses herself through art. I have been influenced by a variety of classical, modern, and contemporary masters. But in one brief summary— I am a self-taught artist.

As my own toughest critic, I always strive to artistically challenge myself and create pieces out of the norm...outside of the box. My inspiration derives from emotions, events, spontaneous discoveries, experimentations to say the least. I aim to create meaningful and unique art. I never paint the same and exact pieces because each one is created differently from the rest, at any given moment or time.

I work spontaneously and independently, with no idea as to what the outcome will be until taking a few steps back from the canvas and seeing the final result.

I am a keen believer of art being a universal language; a manifestation of ideas and an infinite expression of thoughts.

I am an abstract thinker, an explorer— a self-taught artist.
